Peak fare questions

What are the Elizabeth line peak times?

06:30–09:30 and 16:00–19:00, Monday to Friday. Public holidays are off-peak all day, as are Saturdays and Sundays.

Is peak decided by when I start or when I finish?

By when you touch in at the start of the journey. Touch in at 09:29 and you pay the peak fare even though most of the journey is after 09:30; touch in at 09:31 and the whole journey is off-peak.

How much more is a peak fare?

It depends on the journey. Paddington to Reading is £14.00 off-peak and £30.40 peak - £16.40 more. Some journeys, including Paddington to Heathrow, cost the same all day.

Are there evening peak fares at weekends?

No. Saturday, Sunday and public holidays are off-peak from first train to last, in both directions.

Does the peak fare change if I change trains?

No. Pay as you go charges for the journey between where you touch in and where you touch out, not per train, so changing at Whitechapel or Hayes & Harlington costs nothing extra.
