Elizabeth line weekend closures
Saturday 11 July
No planned closures published
Sunday 12 July
No planned closures published
The usual pattern: the Elizabeth line runs every day, and most weekends every branch is open. A handful of times a year TfL closes a section for planned engineering - most often the Abbey Wood branch or the western surface sections towards Reading and Heathrow. The central tunnels close more rarely. Closures are published weeks ahead on TfL's planned works calendar.
If a section is closed: rail replacement buses cover closed stations, but they are much slower. Faster workarounds by branch - Heathrow: Piccadilly line or Heathrow Express; Canary Wharf: Jubilee line; Shenfield branch: Greater Anglia from Liverpool Street; Abbey Wood branch: Southeastern via London Bridge.
On the day itself, trust the live status over any plan. Sunday trains also start later and finish earlier than the rest of the week - see first & last trains.
